We delivered a Mobile Dewatering Truck to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Manila, Philippines.
Regarding this product, our company arranged for the dewatering machine, and the vehicles and other related equipment to be delivered to the Philippines with the cooperation of a partner company.
In the Philippines, septic tanks play a crucial role in domestic wastewater treatment, and they are widely used. The country has already had experience with the delivery of dozens of units for sludge processing from septic tanks. Due to the excellent compatibility with VOLUTE™, many customers, both government and private sector, are considering using VOLUTE™ for sludge treatment.
Typically, sludge collected by vacuum trucks is often transported to centralized processing facilities. However, in this case, DPWH has introduced the sludge dewatering vehicle with the aim of dewatering the sludge on-site immediately after extraction, eliminating the need for centralized wastewater treatment facilities.
The product launch activities were carried out at the DPWH offices where septic tanks are used. Although there are multiple offices, each building has tanks buried underground, and wastewater from toilets and kitchens flow into these tanks.
The accumulated sludge at the bottom of each tank was pumped out and then subjected to dewatering. This was a direct dewatering process from the tank, and initially, there were variations in sludge concentration, with some locations on the hose receiving thicker sludge while others received thinner sludge. However, with VOLUTE, even low-concentration sludge from direct dewatering posed no problems.
We are glad to report, that the sludge was successfully dewatered. Due to the relatively higher fiber content typical of raw wastewater, the sludge had a good dewatering result with a moisture content of approximately 78%, which is better than typical excess sludge.
